WELCOME TO
MANHATTAN GENERAL SERVICE
OF
ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS
Manhattan General Service is part of Area 49, South Eastern New York (SENY). In SENY, we have a county service structure. The county structure includes one linguistic Hispanic district that serves all Hispanic groups in SENY. About half the counties in SENY, including Manhattan, are divided into districts. In these counties, districts meet separately from the county meeting. In other counties, the county serves as the district. Each of the counties and the linguistic Hispanic district has a District Committee Member Chair (DCMC).

Remember SENY and Intergroup are two completely different separate entities

2024 DELEGATE’S DAY OF SHARING AND DELEGATE’S QUESTIONNAIRE
QUESTIONNAIRES DUE SATURDAY APRIL 6, 2024
PRE-CONFERENCE ASSEMBLY SATURDAY, APRIL 6, 2024 9:00 to 3:00 (hybrid)
Our Concepts explain that we have rights of decision and participation. Equal to that is our responsibility to be informed members of the fellowship. Your voice is heard when your group’s Group Service Representative (GSR) attends the yearly Delegate’s Day of Sharing and 5 Area Assemblies, all of which are hybrid. All are welcome to attend; only the GSR can vote on behalf your group!
The Delegate’s Questionnaire is an opportunity for your group’s voice to be heard and contribute to the collective group conscience of the whole of the AA Fellowship!! The voice of your group is heard via the GSR. If your group does not have one, it is strongly suggested your group elect one.
As you may already know, the General Service Office (GSO) creates an agenda for the Annual General Service Conference based on submissions of proposed agenda items (PAIs) from fellows, groups, districts, counties, and areas.
In Area 49, Southeast New York (SENY), our Area Delegate selects a handful of agenda items about which she would like feedback from the groups via the Delegate’s Questionnaire. Of course, any group may offer feedback on any of the agenda items.
SENY hosts an annual Delegate’s Day of Sharing (DDOS) to which anyone is invited and GSRs are strongly encouraged to attend (In person or virtually) to learn more about the questions on the Delegate’s Questionnaire. This year it was held Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 9 AM to 3 PM. Materials from the presentations will be available on the SENY website shortly. You will have the opportunity to share your group's voice or individual voices on April 6, 2024, at the Pre-Conference assembly.
Upon the information being made available, a group’s GSR will typically hold a special meeting or use another means to have a group discussion on these topics and come to an informed group conscience. This information is then sent to the Delegate and becomes a voice in the Area Conscience, which the delegate then brings to the General Service Conference.
The Delegate will only accept responses from Groups. Individual responses will not be accepted. Please click the links below for more information. More information will be added to this site as time goes on, so please keep checking back.
We encourage all of you to learn about these agenda items, understand the workings of AA, and in turn, have your voices heard. In turn, this will better ensure that the hand of AA will be there when anyone anywhere reaches out for help.

Join Manhattan General Service Fellows at the GSO for a meeting and tours !!
Beginning in February, for at least the next three months, on the Final Friday of every month, Manhattan General Service will coordinate groups of fellows to attend the 11:00 AM AA meeting at the General Service Office (GSO) at 475 Riverside Drive followed by optional tours and fellowship afterward.
Going to the GSO provides the rare opportunity to meet all the people who make AA function, coordinate all the publications, and manage all the various service committees as well as peruse the archives. This is an incredible gift we have, and it is something all are welcome and encouraged to experience.
Following GSO and security policies at the location, we are asking those interested to please sign up no later than noon on the last Wednesday, preceding the last Friday of the month. Our coordinator will be in touch with you with all the details.
